Harvest Loaves. Friday 14th October.

Friday afternoon and as we are having our harvest festival on Sunday I thought it would be nice to make a corn sheath out of bread to decorate the harvest display for the service. With 5 residents sitting around the table 'helping' I tipped 6lb of flour onto the table, made a well in the middle and added a jug full of water to it introducing the flour in circular movements.

12th October Activity, Entertainers, Main Lounge 2pm

SUSANS face was a picture as she watched and listened to the entertaining duo who visited us this afternoon.

MAVIS seemed to enjoy listening to the entertainers this afternoon though to be honest it's hard to tell sometimes as she doesn't give much away. She did however stay the course which is more than I can say about myself.

This afternoon GRETA certainly bashed the hell out of the tambourine I had given her to play. I'm not sure if this was from the joy she was experiencing or the pure frustration at not being able to get up out of her chair and leave.

ETHEL couldn't help singing along with the duo who came to entertain us today. Unfortunately her high pitch squealing did nothing to enhance the already flat singing of the female vocalist.

What I'd Really Like To Say Is...........

Every few days I sit at my desk with the Activities file in front of me. A cup of tea handy, I start at A and work through to W writing about each residents activities for the last couple of days. What they did, enjoyed, took part in etc etc. Sometimes its easy, sometimes pretty straight forward and sometimes I write a polite version of what I'd really like to write. What I've written here is what I'd actually like to write in there but can't! Obviously all names have been changed but all activities are real. Believe me!
